Carolina Hurricanes Tickets – Canes Get Pasted On Pepsi Cans

The Carolina Hurricanes roster is looking pretty good lately. With none of the Canes situated on the injured reserves list, there’s plenty of action taking place on the ice. Forward players include Ryan Bayda, Rod Brind’Amour, Wade Brookbank, Matt Cullen, Patrick Eaves, Chad laRose, Tuomo Ruutu, Sergei Samsonov, Eric Staal, Brandon Sutter, Scott Walker, Ray Whitney and Justin Williams. Team defensemen players include Anton Babchuk, Joe Corvo, Tim Gleason, Frantisek Kaberle, Joni Pitkanen, Dennis Seidenberg and Niclas Wallin. The roster completes with goalies Michael Leighton and Cam Ward.

The Canes took their last game before the All-Star Break with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. In January, the Canes will host games against the Lightning and the Thrashers to finish out the month. Moving on to February, the Canes will play home games during the month against the Panthers, Blue Jackets, Bruins, Lightning, Avalanche, and the Sabres. The balance of the February games will put the Canes on the road where they will take to the ice as visitors in games against the Canucks, Sharks, Coyotes, Sabres, Islanders, Senators and Thrashers. In the month of March, the Canes will also be on the road as visitors on the ice of the Capitals, Lightning, Blackhawks, Stars, Capitals, Panthers and the Devils. Home games in March will be against the Flames, Rangers, Devils, Islanders, Capitals and Senators.

Any last minute sparks at home in April will have to be against the Rangers, Penguins, Islanders or Sabres when the Canes take to the ice on their own territory against those teams. The Saturday, April 11 game will be against the Devils with the Canes representing on the ice as the visitors.

The Canes roster of coaches and staff looks nicely situated as well. Staffing includes head coach Paul Maurice, associate head coach Ron Francis, assistant coach Kevin McCarthy, assistant coach Tom Rowe, goaltending coach Tom Barrasso, video coach Chris Huffine, head athletic therapist and strengthening and conditioning coach Peter Friesen, associate athletic therapist Jason Bailey, equipment manager skip Cunningham, equipment manager Skip Cunningham and equipment manager Wally Tatomir.

Keeping the team in stitches when needed are head medical physician Jay Stephens, head orthopedic surgeon Marty Isbell, team dentist Tom Long and team dentist Gabriel Rich along with team Optometrist Mike Peters.

The Canes are currently situated in the number eight position with 23 wins, 20 losses and 5 OTs giving them a total of 51 points for their standing in the eastern conference.

This year’s draft picks Zach Boychuk, Zac Dalpe, Michal Jordan, Mike Murphy and Samuel Morneau hail from various leagues including WHL Lethbridge, BCHL Penticton, OMJHL Baie-Comieu and OHL Plymouth and Belleville. Canada represented well with this year’s drafts with four of the top picks for the Canes. A cross section of birthplaces of these young hopefuls includes Airdrie, AB, Paris, ON, Kingston, ON and Cowansville, QC.

At the approach of the All-Star break Pepsi Cola has introduced cans themed after the Cans with a contest of excellent prices.

Contests for Corporate Control

Contests for Corporate Control

$198.48

During the 1990s, corporate governance became a hot issue in all of the advanced economies. For decades, major business corporations had reinvested earnings and developed long-term relations with their labour forces as they expanded the scale and scope of their operations. As a result, these corporations had made themselves central to resource allocation and economic performance in the national economies in which they had evolved. Then, beginning in the 1980s and picking up momentum in the 1990s, came the contests for corporate control. Previously silent stockholders, now empowered by institutional investors, demanded that corporations be run to ‘maximize shareholder value’. In this highly original book, Mary O’Sullivan provides a critical analysis of the theoretical foundations for this principle of corporate governance and for the alternative perspective that corporations should be run in the interests of ‘stakeholders’. She embeds her arguments on the relation between corporate governance and economic performance in historical accounts of the dynamics of corporate growth in the United States and Germany over the course of the twentieth century. O’Sullivan explains the emergenceDSand consequencesDSof ‘maximizing shareholder value’ as a principle of corporate governance in the United States over the past two decades, and provides unique insights into the contests for corporate control that have unfolded in Germany over the past few years.

Contests in Higher Mathematics

Contests in Higher Mathematics

$75.48

One of the most effective ways to stimulate students to enjoy intellectual efforts is the scientific competition. In 1894 the Hungarian Mathematical and Physical Society introduced a mathematical competition for high school students. The success of high school competitions led the Mathematical Society to found a college level contest, named after Miklós Schweitzer. The problems of the Schweitzer Contests are proposed and selected by the most prominent Hungarian mathematicians. This book collects the problems posed in the contests between 1962 and 1991 which range from algebra, combinatorics, theory of functions, geometry, measure theory, number theory, operator theory, probability theory, topology, to set theory. The second part contains the solutions. The Schweitzer competition is one of the most unique in the world. The experience shows that this competition helps to identify research talents. This collection of problems and solutions in several fields in mathematics can serve as a guide for many undergraduates and young mathematicians. The large variety of research level problems might be of interest for more mature mathematicians and historians of mathematics as well.

German Memory Contests

German Memory Contests

$80.98

Since unification in 1990, Germany has seen a boom in the confrontation with memory, evident in a sharp increase in novels, films, autobiographies, and other forms of public discourse that engage with the long-term effects of National Socialism across generations. Taking issue with the concept of "Vergangenheitsbewaeltigung," or coming to terms with the Nazi past, which after 1945 guided nearly all debate on the topic, the contributors to this volume view contemporary German culture through the more dynamic concept of "memory contests," which sees all forms of memory, public or private, as ongoing processes of negotiating identity in the present. Touching on gender, generations, memory and postmemory, trauma theory, ethnicity, historiography, and family narrative, the contributions offer a comprehensive picture of current German memory debates, in so doing shedding light on the struggle to construct a German identity mindful of but not wholly defined by the horrors of National Socialism and the Holocaust. Contributors include Peter Fritzsche, Anne Fuchs, Elizabeth Boa, Stefan Willer, Chloe E. M. Paver, Matthias Fiedler, J. J. Long, Dagmar C. G. Lorenz, Cathy S. Gelbin, Jennifer E. Michaels, Mary Cosgrove, Andrew Plowman, and Roger Woods.

Endogenous Public Policy and Contests

Endogenous Public Policy and Contests

$97.98

This book studies endogenous policy determination focusing on the role of interest groups and their lobbying efforts in the determination of public policy. Applying strategic contest theory as the basic methodology, it clarifies the fundamental parameters that determine the behavior of the government and the interest groups – the two contestants for the prizes associated with public policy. The fundamental parameters are the objective of the government, political culture, the contest success function, the stakes of the interest groups and their characteristics. The analysis focuses on the relationship between these parameters and public policy, the contest winning probabilities of the interest groups and their efforts. Comprehensive illustrations of the usefulness of the proposed approach are provided in five specific cases: the determination of monopoly price, privatization policy, migration quotas, minimum wage and promotion in tournaments.
